This is the beginning of an interactive animation about the 7 sins mad with after effects, in the finished peice this video is loaded in to flash to create interaction.

This is a colour correction test I did using after effects, still a long way to go, want to create a rotoscoped mask around her to create a more accurate correction. Sorry for the little technical glitch, laptop started playing up halfway through render.

EBOY

"eBoy, the innovative and seminal pixel art pioneers exhibited at Concrete Hermit in May. eBoy is a pixel art group founded in 1998 by Steffen Sauerteig, Svend Smital and Kai Vermehr. From their Berlin studio they create re-usable pixel objects and take them to build complex and extensible artwork. Entire cityscapes, rich in detail have been created for London, New York, Berlin, Tokyo and this exhibition sees the latest city to get the eBoy unique visionary panoramic treatment: Los Angeles.
Their work makes intense use of popular culture and commercial icons, and their style is presented in three-dimensional illustrations filled with robots, cars, guns and girls.
Their unique style has gained them a cult following among graphic designers worldwide, and they have worked with among others, named brands and companies such as Coca-Cola, MTV, VH1, Adidas, and Honda. They were also involved in creating the album cover for Groove Armada’s 2007 studio album Soundboy Rock." Sourced from Concrete Hermit

The difference between dominance and proportion.

Dominance
In design dominance is used to create a variety of differing emphasis within a composition, dominance is used frequently within design to bring a hierarchy of importance to a composition, this has become second nature to designers and the viewer. It has been implicated as standard in many modern design tools, for example the hyper text mark up language used by the world wide web has preset values for Headers (dominant) Sub headers (sub-dominant) and paragraphs (subordinate). These are the three main categories of dominance in design to create visual effect and draw the views eye, although many more can be used.

Proportion
Proportion is the comparison of different elements within the design, comparing either dimension or position with relation to one or more elements. The designer can use proportion to gain rhythm, symmetry, or a sense of depth to a composition. for example, a designer may try and maintain the same corner angle on all text boxes within a design to maintain a standard of proportion and a balanced composition.

The above text is written in three different font sizes, the header drawing your eye to the top of the page being the Dominant, then your eye tracks down to the first sub-header "dominance" and then to the second sub-header "proportion" witch are both sub-dominate to the header, these two sub-headers are in proportion to one another reflecting equal status. The main difference between dominance and proportion is that dominance includes the composition as a whole, whereas proportion can be in relation to anything within the composition.

Night Photography

Here are a selection of photographs taken at about midnight in my local park near the house I lived in last year. The pictures were taken with a FinePix S1500 at: (f stop 2.8) (ISO 800) and with an exposure time of 8 seconds.
Just a bat taken on a night walk in Buckfastleigh.

This photo was taken on a dark night from my bedroom window at about 3am, this is the only photo I enhanced slightly with Photoshop, it really shows how much light pollution there is in a big city like London.

These pictures were taken with a Nikon 35mm SLR and
then developed by myself. these are some of my first experiments with night photography. My inspiration for these nigh shots came from Brassai, one of the founding fathers of night photography back in the 1930s, Brassai made his name photographing the tography came after studying Brassai macabre underworld of the streets of Paris.

This is a little animation I made as a test. I first shot a video of myself, then converted it to a frame by frame image sequence in quick time pro. I then set up photoshop to automatically add a range of filters to each image to give a rotoscope effect, then converted it back to a video. I then brought the video in to after effects and duplicated it and reversed it to create a looping video. I then split it in to four smaller videos. Vid1 is a flicker, a couple of frames from the beginning. Vid2 is the mouth opening, vid3 is the middle flicker and vid4 is the mouth closing. I then brought these videos in to flash where I made the interactive video animation and added sound.
